Our History

In 1984, Earl C. Reed decided he was ready to put his years of experience to use in a new venture. His family’s new home was in Decatur, Alabama, and his focus was on all the fun the family had together in their own swimming pool.

That was when R & S Pools was born. Their first location was known as the “little blue building with the slide on top.” With a little under 600 square feet of retail space and a little more storage, Earl, Shirley, Doug, and Steve worked long, hard hours pushing the company forward. They learned from their successes as well as their challenges and never lost sight of their original focus.

We're now known as Pool Doctors - the company that makes backyards fun. You can count on our skilled team to provide one-stop convenience for your water chemistry, service, and maintenance needs. Each and every one of our employees is certified in pool servicing, so you know the job will be done right.

The name and location may have changed but the focus still remains the same. Although Earl is no longer with us, we think he would be proud.
